June 19, 2015 at 8:12 pm in reply to: Color Correction Color Mask and shape mask features in FCP X 10.1.4 MISSING in 10.2.1I apologize, but should have know Apple is “famous” for those “hidden” or hard to find “pulldowns”. When you apply the “Color Correction” effect, up in the Inspector, you at 1st ONLY SEE the Gray bar that says “Color Correction” with the “Reset” arrow on the right end of that bar. Below is the words “Color Board” with an arrow surrounded by a multicolor ring. You have to actually click, (or touch with a pen) on the upper gray bar, then you get the “mask icon”. If you click and hold on that icon, you get a pulldown menu that has the following: “add shape mask, add color mask, invert masks”. I hope this helps out others who have been caught by this.

July 16, 2014 at 3:10 pm in reply to: FCP X Effect Similar to Strobe on Motion Tab in FCP 7Thank you very much Charlie. I’m only on FCP X when I’m at work. So I will install the plug-in later today at COB. (Still using the Quad 2.5 Motorala-based mac from 2007. Still works like new in the box, but will have to upgrade later this year).

July 15, 2014 at 6:51 pm in reply to: FCP X Effect Similar to Strobe on Motion Tab in FCP 7Sorry about that Charlie. I mispoke of the location of the “Strobe” effect in FCP 7. The “strobe” is a regular effect under the “effects” tab and not under the “motion tab”. The effect gives you 2 simple controls. The “strobe rate, and an option to “mix” this effect onto your clip from 0 to 100% opacity. Works great. I just haven’t been able to find anything like that in FCP X.
