Marcus, your post has us confused; we’ve answered your questions but maybe you didn’t ask the right ones. This isn’t a NewTek user forum, I’ve have not seen one in operation since it ran on the Commodore 64 but any video switcher system should have a composite output. If it doesn’t, you need to talk to the mfr, open the manual and dive deep, or start hanging on the NewTek user forums. It’ds a popular rig, must be a rich user resource out there someplace.

Tearing is an artifact of your display being overdriven by your signal, it’s a user error. Open the scopes in Color Finesse and make sure you are video legal or within the constraints of your project’s codecs.

This best done at the film transfer using a cleaning system and what we used to call a “wet gate.” To do it in post is a frame-by-frame slog. I know of no shortcuts since 8mm has not stable mechanics in any part of the flow starting in the camera . Even if the film was shot on a tripod, the camera and projector gates have sloppy tolerances so everything you can think of as a scene-by-scene correction must be carefully motion tracked.
Sorry, I think it’s a hopeless cause. You need to find a way to either stylize your 8mm footage to hide the defects, get a better transfer, or find out how to get paid for the hundreds of hours you may spend on this.But I’m also hoping there are solutions that other folks will suggest.
