Trapcode is a complete waste of money on this simple project.
Just copy the Illustrator paths and paste them into your AE comp as masks.
You will want to study up on how to setup AI to export the paths properly and how to use paths as masks in AE. It’s all in the manual and on Todd’s community help search system.bogiesan

removing compressor is a bad idea unless you’re trying to solve another issue.

Canto Cumulus.
There are others including frontends for most popular db apps such as FileMaker. You can search the forum for the topic, comes up once a month or so. You can google digital asset management for a few hours of uncomfortable reading.
Be great if you came back in a few months and told which product you ended up and how things are working for you.

Reviewing piff’s history of iquiries on apple.com, I suggest you all stick to your deeply held, totally unreasonable personal convictions and to avoid attempting to use objective criteria in your answers.

Just hit youtube and look for “kinetic typography.”
I gotta say, though, if this is what you’re looking for (and not “text animation” which is all clearly explained in the manual and there are tons of examples available in Bridge, kinetic type has seen its day, it is passé.
If your client must have this style, they run a severe risk of being seen as retro, like someone who still puts two spaces after a period.

January 19, 2010 at 4:10 pm in reply to: Laying picture on a 3D path to be followed by a cameraYou might also look for the tutorial called “Circle of Cows” for a delightfully elegant way of laying out many objects along a form.
There was once a free plugin for AE called something like 3D Assistant Lite that would distribute objects along a path. I don’t supose it still exists.
I need to ask another question: Is it absolutely necessary that all 100 still images be on screen? If not, your task can be simplified by creating a cycling composition into which you just drop new images as they are required using a script.

January 18, 2010 at 2:41 am in reply to: Compressor so slow on dual 2.7 Will a quad-core add speed?[Blake Porter] “FCP with XDCAM footage – Create an uncompressed Quicktime with prores – Quicktime then to Compressor to resize to web player dimensions, in Prores – then to On2 Flix Pro for encoding flv. “
You’re wasting a lot of time and disk space. If your target is known to be Flash, there’s no reason to edit in high def. Bring it in using a codec closer to your delivery specs. You can always go back and create/recapture for higher rez.
But I have no patience for such inquiries. When I was a kid, AE v1 and v2 needed a weekend to render 10 seconds of one effect on one layer.

Great contribution to the discourse, Matt.
Im glad I don’t have a Canon but our next Nikons will probably shoot video. I’m not looking forward to that.bogiesan

See the manual for loading keyboard layouts and button bar layouts. There are some specifically for mutliclipping. They are remarkably cool and efficient.
The differences between cutting and switching are subtle and insufficiently explained in the manual. It’s a lame non-feature unless you really understand the differences and why they’re helpful. I do not.
