Be aware, the 4x nVidia is actually four of the dang cards, it’s not a 4 times speed option. The cards are supposed to have weird joojoo running in the background, nVidia’s “SLI” claims to to link the four cards together to max out performance. It’s marketing crap.

The Cycore Effects totally suck on the Intel Macs.
I have no crashing issues except with Cycore. And I’m teaching a class and we do a ton of Cycore stuff. It’s most inconvenient.

Perhaps I posted too quickly, there ARE ways to do this but the effort isn’t always worth the result. Or the other way around, too.,

Data Rescue, I have it, will recover files that are completely intact but it cannot replace missing data and media files often do not rebuild at all. Something gets lost.

If these media files have been deleted for more than a few hours and the drives have been used for regular stuff, pieces of the media files will have been overwritten and destroyed.

You have not told us why you think you need RAID, which is a misunderstood technology, often upsold to gullible video people.

see this site for some helpful explanations on the various RAID types.

No, you must recapture them form the original tapes.

    > i get these wavy edges. < Nicely done effects, congrats on getting this far. The resolution of youtuoob is not adequate for me to guess at what you might mean. "Wavy line" inquiries are usually elementary field interpolation issues around here. That YT clip looks like it simply suffers from standard YT compression artifacts. You'd have to provide a higher rez sample for us to start throwing suggestions at you. bogiesan This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”

April 17, 2007 at 11:30 pm in reply to: multiclip help please!!

    > but that doesn’t work!< What happened, how do you know it doesn't work? How did you attempt this? > pls don’t tell me that i have to start over editing with all the cameras
added or drag the two new cameras to every single edit!!!< Well, multicam is really an effect. If you change the parameters of a complex effect, you get to start over, in most cases. Make a copy of your project. Start messing with the copy. I think you will be able to figure out a few cumbersome but realistic workarounds. This is the first time this question has come up that I can recall so I cannot suggest you search. We wish you luck and I hope you get better advice soon. bogiesan This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”
