Unfortunately, your post doesn’t make a lot of sense since I’m not sitting over your shoulder. A forked tongue doesn’t need to be realigned or built out of separate masks in my world.
However, if you must use two separate masks, don’t try to splice them together, use the mask blend functions: add, subtract.bogiesan

Never seen it so I’ve got no clue but making a layer disintegrate into particles is easy after you master any of twenty or fifty particle systems.
You’d have to post a still to being deconstructing it and trying to figure out which filter was used. Probably was done with a more sophisticated flocking system, though.bogiesan

As Walter said, it’s not a good idea. We hope you get it fixed and we sympathize but we don’t have much patience with these posts. No one forced you to update and you really shoudl have researched it carefully. Is there anything in Leopard that you just can’t live without? Transparent menus?
Still, there are many happy Leopard suers of Motion 3. One guy just moved the app package to the trash and moved it back to the apps folder. No clue why that worked. Others have done complete reinstalls of FCS2 or just the Motion packages.file this away: “Do not install a new Apple OS for a few weeks or months. Let everyone else be the beta testers.”

The deal killer is the Firewire input. While some units have a FW connector, it’s only for output.
I’d look at Lite-On products and forget about the FW input. Very cheap at Costco.bogiesan

We put our M100 boards in the reservoir about five years ago. Never so glad to watch something sink.
The others have offered good advice. I shall add:
Forget what you know about editing in the M100 proprietary codec. M100’s timeline was always M100 format. Bring in a non-m100 source at it got transcoded before you put it on the timeline. The FCP timeline is whatever format/codec you want it to be and there is no hardware upstream. So anything that is not the same settings as your timeline gets RENDERED, not transcoded. Rendering will make you crazy until you figure out the RealTime Extreme silliness.
If you enjoyed working with a breakout box, get one. Immediately . This will save you many months of frustration, just get one. Which one? No idea, all of our stuff is DV, we just go through our decks.
It’s the paradigm that’s going to pi$$ you off. FCP is really cool but it lacks the maturity, elegant simplicity, and direct access of m100’s interface. Setting destination tracks while editing, setting source tracks while capturing (not digitizing), storyboard editing, seaprting or unlinking tracks in the timeline, getting subclips to behave, recapturing to higher rez… shoot, there’s a really long list of places where FCP’s designers really screwed up and we’ve been screaming about this stuff for years. It ain’t gonna change so get used to it.
Welcome to the family, you will love FCP, you will hate FCP. It is not M100 and never will be.

“Yes and no. It’s not reliable. search versiontracker.com for partitioning tools. You will find several that CLAIM to be able to partition an active and loaded drive. I cannot imagine why I would trust that statement but you want to check for user reviews of the products.
You’re far better off, in my opinion, to just buy another drive.

That’s a cool suggstion, DLR, never would have thought of that.
I’d have suggested investing in Boris package. Their Cylinder and Sphere filters both have delightfully animatable wrap percentages.
