Well, yes, that’s the apparent and direct route. But it completely ignores the end result of the scaling operation and the bitmapping/rasterization to jpeg from the vector font display on a much larger system, which is likely to be hi-def projection in a conference room, probably 1200 pixels. That would be a 75% resolution loss by scaling down to 600 pixels.

Historicla note: when AE added 3d and light transmission, Brian Maffitt created a projection system using three copies of a color movie clip, each reduced to a single color channelgrayscale image. He positioned three spotlights in a triangle and shined them through the individual movies using them as gobos. Each of the three lights was red, green, or blue. He had a layer he called SCREEN and all three lights landed on the screen. The resulting projected image was curiously super-realistic. Someone added CC Light Burst or Radial Glow to give the projectors some volumetric lighting and we all got a chance to animate the camera moving around the scene. Card Dance was used to create an appreciative audience in the movie theater.

Make sure the mats are very powerfully illuminated and are very green. Or blue. Whichever color does not feature prominently in the costuming and makeup.

I’d start offline by carefully researching the movie stunt business. Fall protection devices are regularly removed from practical effects shots but it’s made far simpler by arduously pre-planning the shot.

If you’ve already done the shooting, you are stuck with meticulously rotoscoping every frame or field.

If you make a video of a lousy powerpoint prezo, that’s about what you get, a lousy video of a terrible prezo.

The issue is the difference in pixel dimensions between the vector fonts and bitmapped images in the PP and the vastly smaller number of pixels available in video. Much is lost in the translation.

We almost always are forced to rebuild PP in video. Ninety percent of your client’s builds and silly animations can be done easily in FCP but some effects and stylization that a very skilled PP designer can use must be rethought in Motion or After Effects.

It’s possible to change the apparent perspective of the cylinder layer as it moves across the screen but it has to be done in the precomp.

Is your company large enough to have a legal department or an IT department or some consultant? If so, or if you have a qualified human being on retainer, ask that individual to purchase and install this software for you.

It’s not a moral issue in the slightest, it’s a black and white issue with not gray areas. And, buddy, you do not want to have your name on a single document associated with your company’s decision to install and run Little Snitch on a system owned by a company that is in the entertainment business.

The Boris perspective filters allow you to set keyframes to elp simulate a rollup but it’s not physically real.

AE is a 2D application that shows flat layers in 3D space. It’s possible to roll up a scroll if it is made up of dozens of small layers. It’s usually far easier and cheaper to hire a good 3D animator.

Reinstalling is usually the last thing to try, not the first.
On a Mac, we’d start by trying to figure out if it’s your comp, your project, some bad media, a bad third party plugin, or some obscure codec issue.

None of those are solved by reinstalling the application.
