October 16, 2015 at 5:33 pm in reply to: Selecting same parameters within a large group of shapesI figured there might be a script or something that does this, or possibly an expression way to go about it, like with layer.parameter index[] numbers or some such. It just seems a pain to have to drill down and select every single shape layer parameter.

October 16, 2015 at 5:27 pm in reply to: Selecting same parameters within a large group of shapesThanks, that will work if I’m trying to adjust a normal layer etc, but I’m adjusting multiple shapes on a single layer where the opacity option is within the transform group for the particular shape within the layer. There’s no key command to actively select this parameter. So from what I’ve judged so far, any parameter on a single layer (probably not grouped like the way shape layers are handled) that has a key command can be selected with multiple layers selected. I’m trying to figure out how to select the same parameter within a layer or group that is nested, like the shape group’s transform controls.

Thanks Brian! I guess I just need to continue slugging through it! I understand some lighting basics, 2 point, 3 point etc, and have heard Nick Campbell (GSG) talk about his revelations in treating 3D in the same fashion as he would his photography shoots. I’ve played around with some of his soft box setups, and have also gotten less then stellar results inserting my own objects into them (assuming this is my lack of a more thorough knowledge about materials, though I get the basics of specular, reflectivity, transparency, etc.). I guess I’m just bummed there aren’t more series just covering specifically all the basics surround making good looking scenes. I suppose maybe I’m just a frustrated noob lol. Anyhow, I’ve finally gotten my head around some polygon modeling approaches and techniques, and really took to mograph (though I need some brushing up), so I guess this is my next terrain to cross.
I watched some modeling tuts that a friend had from vertex pusher. I’ve heard he has a whole materials and lighting series, wondering if I should look into those. Cheers for the response!

Ah, I was just trying to do a test to see if I understood the multi shader, but it sounds like I was using it in a poor way. I’ll watch some more tut’s. Thanks for the tip!

Thanks Roland!
I was watching some video training and the presenter’s background cache was working faster than mine even though my machine is always faster than his at other tasks, so I wasn’t sure if there were settings that could be tweaked, but thank you for helping me understand the resource management aspect of this.

Curious about this as well. Did anyone find an answer?

Thanks for the help and info. I’ve ben able to use the cinestyle 3d .mga lut just fine, besides having to move off the current frame for it to kick in. I have however noticed that my performance is horrible when I have the lut buddy running. I’m only on a 2.3 core 2 duo as is, but a clip that will play once buffered is suddenly horribly stuttery after applying the lut, even after rendering effects in the timeline. I’m going to have to do a little more experimentation it seems. It started to seem that I would want to apply the lut in the color correction stage, but if it kills my performance that much I may have to either bake it in or just manually color grade the clip form the raw cinestyle footage.
