I am not trying to sound sarcastic, but you could try to find the largest pair of didymium glasses that the glass blower wears and gaf or hold it over your lens. If anything to see what the glasses do. Maybe just for close ups.

Is your System sound output set to built-in?
If it is set to Aja ioHD you will get the Echo. -
David Perry says…”Also, your system preferences must select the IO/HD.”
If he means the System Sound then I experience the endless audio echo problem if the IO/HD is selected and I select the Digital Out for system sound.
I am using 5.1.1 (AJA) on Tiger 10.4.11 because I was told 5.1.2 is for Leopard, but this could be incorrect. -
If I use the Sony XDCAM Transfer app, and get the video files off the cards and turn them into MOVs, I can then bring them into AE.
Maybe because I have FCP 6.02 on the Mac that I can do this and it has installed the correct codecs for this to work.
Either way the video files do not go into FCP at all and there isn’t any exporting. -
I view the footage on a Sony LMD-2050W played off the SxS card from the camera, so an edit system would not be the case in my situation.
As you can see in the above threads the problem should be resolved by changing the shutter speed. I am hesitant to do this because of the rolling shutter issue, so I figure If I stick with 720p 60 I should be OK, although I will continue to test this. -
I could play the first couple of clips and save it to my hardrve on a MAC that has FCPro and the necessary software to view XDCAM footage, then one clip just partially downloaded and played and I assume the other images were just stills. On the PC it is audio with a white screen. I don’t really need to see the footage because I know this blur you are talking about.
With my Ex 1 footage I have noticed lots of artifacting, blurring, noise, whatever you want to call it with pans and zooms, or objects moving somewhat rapidly while camera is stationary. As soon as camera is still it makes a beautiful image. If I track the moving object the image is good and I find the artifacting is less at 60p than 30p and that would be 720. My shutter switch is off.
I also find beautiful imagery with over crank and under crank. -
Yes, but I really don’t know what the answer is.
I would duplicate the project and then go and delete say half the subtitles, then try to write out the Image. If the subtitles were still too complex I would delete more until I could find the bad subtitles.
I am sorry to say I did not figure out what made a subtitle bad.
It was alot of trial and error but I finaly got it. Luckily my program was only 25 minutes.
I made dozens of duplicate projects and would just selectively delete subtitles.
Also by outputting an “Image” I never had to burn a disc and the error message would appear at the beginning.
Also this was back in January so thru my frustration I may be forgetting something but will respond again if I remember a more exact answer.
I ended up using a 24 point Helvetica type. I am not sure if this helped solve the problem, but that’s what I used. -
Sorry to hear it won’t work.
Bear in mind I am not an expert and have only just began to use this work flow. Hard drive storage and back up might also be a solution, just please duplicate your data.
Hopefully Media 100 will support the XDCAM EX footage soon. -
It is my understanding that the BluRay backup disk will contain the EXACT files from the SxS cards in the folders created by the camera. The BPAV folder. It is also my understanding that I will just copy the BPAV folder to a hardrive and then burn to disc with no need for extra software (Sony Transfer, Viewer, or Browser) I am just using the USB out of the camera, unless you have a laptop with a card reader than you may need SxS card reader software (not sure on this). The browser software would be nice to view your footage. I don’t think the Viewer software works on a PC.
When you want those files into your edit system, if you use FCPro, use the transfer software and point it to the BluRay disc. Of course this needs to be a BluRay disc drive connected to your system, internal or external.
With Media 100, if the transfer software doesn’t work, all I can think of is to playback the files off the card (thru the Camera) and capture via HDSDI. If you dumped the media off the cards and put the media onto BluRay because you needed the cards, you’d have to put the media back onto the card for playback thru the camera.
Or find somebody with a FCPro system or maybe Vegas or Avid would work. Transfer the files to MOVs, then burn to disc and import into your system.
I don’t think playing the video files back off the BluRay into your system will work, but I could be wrong.
I also don’t like the idea of splitting up cards or putting a single card contents on different disc, but maybe this works.I guess I would be tempted to but a 16 gig card contents and say maybe 6 or 7 gigs from an 8 gig card together on a 23 gig BluRay disc.

Thanks for the info Rafael.
I have the LaCie d2 on order and will use it to read the BluRay discs I created in the field with the Sony Vaio.
As of now the drive has been on order for over a week and the shipping date is unknown, but glad to hear it is working for you.
