Dustin,
I am afraid there is no simple solution here!
Your best bet is to export a FCP XML file from your PrP edited sequence.
One of the issue is that not all effects created in PrP are supported in Resolve. You should look at the DaVinci Resolve user guide to find out what is supported or not. This changes from one version of the software to another.
Speed ramps for example is not supported. So you have to decide how to deal with it depending of your workflow and quality requirement. One option is to send the shots with effects that are not compatible in a different timeline, and then recreate the effects when you get the shot back color corrected. Another option is to bake down your effects before exporting to Resolve. Also what kind of file format/codec are you working with in PrP? Make sure they are recognized by Resolve!
I hope this help a little!

April 16, 2014 at 3:47 am in reply to: Color Shift on Resolve Exports and h264 CompressionsRec. 709 is pretty close to sRGB color space. If you are monitoring using a calibrated Rec. 709 monitor you should be in good shape. When you say you create a H.264 movie, is that inside of a Quicktime wrap? Unless you are using x264 codec, Quicktime is well known for introducing some color/gamma shift in your final output. Myself I prefer to encode to H.264 in MP4 format and then upload to Vimeo/Youtube. This workflow gives me the best result for a compressed format.

480p 23.976fps is DVD standard compliant. So yes encode your movie matching your sequence frame rate. In Adobe Encore make sure there is no transcoding happening in the background once you import your MPEG-2 file.

[Sascha Haber] “I just got me a brand new super small Areca ARC 5026 and I am pushing 700 mb/s write and 550 mb/s read with only 4 WD Black FASS Disks.”
I am curious… what kind of RAID do you have setup with this configuration? RAID-0 or something else?

Do you have any kind of time speed change on that clip by any chance?
Also do you have access to PrP? maybe you could export an XML from there and see if you get the same result in Resolve?
Just some ideas…

[Matthew Riggieri] “These are long takes, but I have never seen this issue before.”
does it happen on a span clip? I believe if Resolve does not have access to all the files from a spanned clip, then it might give you a wrong timecode. You need to have all the files associated with that clip available

December 10, 2013 at 4:32 pm in reply to: Where is Encore ? How do we make DVD/Blu-Ray now ?Like Bret said you have to install Premiere Pro CS6 in order to have Encore CS6 installed on your system. Then if you don’t want to keep all the other CS6 apps installed, you can uninstall them. This is a two steps process unfortunately and you have to make sure you have enough room on your hard drive for the installation.

You don’t say what your master file format is ? I am guessing HD but which codec? If you want to take the guess work out of making your DVD, you need to prepare your master SD file, converting from HD to SD. Then you can work out the compression ratio you need in order to fit your video on how many DVD disc you wish…

[Eric Johnson] “the timeline inspector open on the Color page and leave it on “Clip””
Thanks Eric!… now I am wondering if we can change the displayed metadata information in that popup window? I am going to have to dig into the manual… also sometimes because my file names are too long they are truncated… it does not look like someone could change the size of that window…
