I’m helping on an film project for for my church, we shot all of the video using DSLRs @ 1080 24p.
Our sequences are all 23.976 and we’re rendering them out using the MPEG2-DVD preset.
We then take the MPEG and burn it to a DVD via Encore… This is where I’m confused, the only framerate option in Encore for DVDs is 29.97.

So my question is this: should I encode my MPEG to match the sequence (23.976) or to match the Encore setting (29.97)?

If this doesn’t make sense or you need me to give more info please let me know, thanks!

480p 23.976fps is DVD standard compliant. So yes encode your movie matching your sequence frame rate. In Adobe Encore make sure there is no transcoding happening in the background once you import your MPEG-2 file.
