If you’re on a Mac, I bet you could use QuickKeys to create a macro that would accomplish this — maybe control-C (for right-click / get Clip Info)?

You can also leave the timeline inspector open on the Color page and leave it on “Clip” instead of “system”… Then you just need to know the camera’s naming convention…

Thanks Eric!… now I am wondering if we can change the displayed metadata information in that popup window? I am going to have to dig into the manual… also sometimes because my file names are too long they are truncated… it does not look like someone could change the size of that window…
