[Simon Ubsdell] “I’ve got a can of Super 16mm that I’m keeping from over ten years ago that I want to try out one day …
“Volatile.
Unpredictable.
Pretty much will create some kind of art.
Let me know when you are going to run that film through a camera. I’d love to see the result.

[Simon Ubsdell] “Everything is possible …”
LOL.
What do I know?
I’ve just spent the day looking through a bunch of old stills shot on FUJI VELVIA films stock. The RED’s were always so perfect in Velvia.

Hilarious!
Thanks! I have the iphone app, but i think this is better.
Now the filter I really want is a film filter that simulates iris ramping when doing speed changes. This would work in conjuction with the retimer and add iris effects to keyframes inbetween speed changes. This was a look I could only ever achieve shooting actual 16mm film and changing the speed while the camera was running.
I know. You’ve been generous. This one probably is not possible.

July 15, 2011 at 7:14 pm in reply to: NEW FCPX Tilt Shift Filter Effect – Beta versionLooking at it now.
It’s kind of a “lens/film plane perspective effect with very shallow depth of field, much like selective focus but it can run horizontally or vertically through the frame. The Focus area gets narrow or wider depending on the silt and shift.
I can not believe how cool it is that this already exists.
I mean, someone could just say “SUPER 8” around here and things could get fun.
Thanks for all of this.

I can just imagine how long it would take Logic to draw two hour waveforms.
Seriously, that is more than a bite sized piece of data that needs to be analysed.
