What would it take to have these bundled with FCPX installer? Or possibly listed on Apple.com? I mean they are really useful

Appreciate this token of hope. 🙂

They probably are focusing on making up for the mess with a huge well tested update.
At least that’s what I hope. So no rush necessary…a solid update is critical, It’s harder to forgive a .1 screw up.

[Craig Seeman] “Why did the iBook change naming lineage to MacBook?”
At the time the purpose was to reinvigorate the Mac brand. Now that iDevices have truly taken off it’s hard to remember that Apple was still fighting for it’s life not too long ago. They weren’t as inevitable as they are now.

I also think they are looking for a way to rename AppleTV iTV once they can get through the trademark issues.

[Craig Seeman] “I can’t help but think there was a licensing issue of some sort (one they didn’t want to renew) which lead to the sudden removal of FCP7.”

Now that really could be it.

This particular forum is definitely doomed 🙂 it will likely be deleted around the end of the year and the techniques forum will be renamed the FCPX forum.

[Timothy Payton] “Regarding the audio mixer, the components for it are actually present in the FCP X package now. I am guessing these were actually implemented but somehow were removed for the 1.0 release. Check out these file names for graphics (you can see them yourself, just right click on the FCP X app, and then choose “Show Package Contents” and then look in the resources folder.)”

Smoking gun :). It was probably pulled at the last minute due to bugs, I bet we’ll see it implemented this year.

Yes I experience the same thing.. it is probably due to an underpowered system (I run iMac Core 2 Duo with 4G of RAM and capture at 1080p)

For now I turn off skimming and waveforms and it’s usable. However there are similar reports from people with maxed out MacPro systems. So I’m waiting for a X.1 release before getting a new iMac.

Yes that’s what I was thinking. If they don’t do a fader panel perhaps they have something more clever in mind.
I doubt they would have gone through the trouble of building such a robust clip based audio effects engine without intending to finish the job
