Anyone else have strange behavior with the timeline cursor?

I can’t figure out if it’s something I’m doing, but often the cursor will suddenly jump to a different part of the timeline, instead of where I happen to be working. I haven’t been able to quantify this, but often I will zoom in or out of the timeline and zingo, I’m somewhere else.

This and the 7 or 8 crashes, as well as the many bouts of sluggishness I experienced while editing yesterday provide hiccups in my concentration that slows me way down.

    Where is that update?

I’m calling it FCX. They took the “pro” out, so I will too.
I’ll reconsider after the first upgrade.

Yes I experience the same thing.. it is probably due to an underpowered system (I run iMac Core 2 Duo with 4G of RAM and capture at 1080p)

For now I turn off skimming and waveforms and it’s usable. However there are similar reports from people with maxed out MacPro systems. So I’m waiting for a X.1 release before getting a new iMac.

I have found that if you turn skimming off and background rendering off, the program is significantly more stable and actually kind of nice.

    Just a thought…

Skimming’s it though. With skimming, hovering, pressing ‘c’ to selecting a clip, comma and period to trim, moving the mouse (to skim) and hitting spacebar to play… I’m beginning to make use of every motion I make to edit/trim/adjust edits more efficiently than ever. It’s nice.

Definitely looking forward to the program being more stable. Which it will be.

I really don’t like skimming. Not yet anyways. It gets in the way for me. But I am loving this app a lot. 🙂
