This morning I sent the show out as one single Quicktime and all the ramps from the original XML came out perfect on Render. It seems to be only when my XML is sent out that things get a little messy.

The show is finished and they have made the final decision……this is not about that. Its about making an easier work flow for everyone involved. Its about saving time and trying to help the Editor out with limitations in Resolve for Round Trip. I have always been open to trying other possibilities and stretching the limits on software and was just looking for anyone else who had entertained this work flow….. -
I am having the same issues, either they show up black or they show up all with “0” TC.
You can save your session and reboot your Mac and they will sometimes fix themselves.
Still working with Black Magic on this one……. -

Thanks for the help. The added frames from FC I have been told is to make the 23.98 clips fit to a 29.97 frame time line that they are working in. I don’t need to spit out handles just habit but that is not important at this point. If I put 23.98 and 29.97 clips on a time line that were brought in with an XML will Resolve not spit them out at the source frame rate without the added frames that FC adds on its end? I personally think its something in the XML that is telling Resolve to render out with the added frames on specific clips but I could be wrong.
I will try and update today and see if that helps. -

I know this has nothing to do with the update but I have a question that I have been dealing with and have no answer. I am trying to do 23.98 and 29.97 brought in with an XML on a 29.97 time line. Its a finished show. It brings the footage in OK but on render it spits some of the 23.98 clips out with the extra frames that Final Cut is adding to make up the difference between 23.98 and 29.97. The weird thing is some of them are OK but it does the same clips with the additional frames every time. I have checked the “Handel Mixed Frame Rates in the config page so all of that is good. The only response I have gotten on this forum is don’t do mixed frame rates. Well this facility does mixed frame rate shows all the time so that is not the answer I am looking for.

I have been doing some 48 minute shows this past few weeks and have had some similar issues but I did try something one day that made a difference. After render when you go back to highlight the time line that you want to export a XML rather than taking the default name which is the original name of the imported XML with the extension of (Resolve) change the entire name as at that point it does not matter. I had the same issue one day on a show and I found that by renaming the XML there is no chance that it will revert back to the original footage.

Back to Juan’s suggestion of rendering out the master timeline. I can try that but you must remember that some of the pieces come from huge clips that are only taking seconds from the source. It will extend my render time greatly but if it works I will try it today as this show is on a deadline.

This show has already been edited and I think everyone is missing the point to my original question. All I am asking is that Resolve Render the clips out correctly at their original speeds. The manual says it will do it and it should do it but it’s not. Its almost there except for the stutter on the 23.98 footage. I am assuming it’s a glitch in Resolve or something in the XML. If you put 23.98 and 29.97 footage on a timeline and check the box in the conform page that says “Handel Mixed Frame Rates” it should work. This is not a conversion problem this is a simple rendering out at the correct speed without the glitch. I don’t really care how they play back in the timeline just render out correctly.

Did the 9.01 fix any problems with mixed frame rates?

Running 10.6.8 and there are no other apps running.
