Thanks for the input, I really appreciate it. I ended up using the thumbnails creator in Photoshop, per the above suggestion. It’s easy to use and works pretty well for what I needed.

Hi Rick, changing the setting to “preview full” did not change the preview as far as the jumping/jerking goes. I think I have a setting somewhere that may need to be changed or maybe an uncompatibility with something. My older computer gives me a great picture with no jumping in the preview even set at “best”. I hope I can get this figured out because it makes it a bit difficult to edit!
My preview is set to “preview auto” I will try “preview full” when I get home. Something is wrong because this was never a problem on my older computer. Any more thoughts out there?
