Glad it worked for you too! There’s definitely a bug in the 64 bit version.
Yes, just change the FileIO one (glad you figured that out) as I had no idea there were two.
Thanks for letting us know it works for you too!

John’s reply says it all.
ALTERNATIVE: I had the same problem when I installed 64-bit Vegas Pro 10 — so many AVI’s wouldn’t work.
The easy way around it I found is to take the aviplug.dll file from the 32-bit Vegas install and put it into the 64-bit version. It should be located under the File IO plugin folder.
The thing I haven’t had a chance to try is taking the 64-bit version of the aviplug.ddl file from Vegas 9 to see if that works in Vegas 10 too.
So yeah, if you don’t want to mess with Codecs, first try swapping the aviplug.dll files.

If these are AVI files you might not have the proper codecs installed on your W7 system unlike your XP system.
I would check to make sure you have the correct codecs. Being able to see/hear audio, but not video, is a typical symptom of not having the correct codec installed.
Hope this helps.

December 24, 2010 at 11:33 am in reply to: Sony Vegas Pro 9.0 – – Rendering Problems (Low Memory)With this “locking” issue I experienced the same thing. What I did to resolve the issue is I started taking media events out of my timeline one by one.
In the end, I found everything rendered perfectly when I removed an AVI file.
So what I did is I converted that AVI file to a wmv file and then everything worked perfectly.
That means it could have been either the codec which wasn’t working for some reason, or the AVI file itself was bad somehow.
Either way, that’s what I would suggest you guys try doing, especially if nothing has changed last week *that you are aware of* (as things are always changing on Windows systems).
Hope this helps.

Please advise.
