Walter, I agree with Craig. I have clients come into our shop all the time with there FCP projects because they are stuck at a point and can’t move forward because of there knowledge base in FCP. We are editing (fixing a project) this week that can’t be finished by our client. I think we will see this even more with Color. People will try to use this and find it is beyond them and have to turn to a production company who has the skill set. I also think we will have a new group of colorists come out of the schools with an understanding of color grading. A good resource for a small company like mine.

Yes, I do find it odd that there was no update to DVDSP. My clients are starting to ask for HD on DVD. I guess I’ll have to use toast!

My 330 had a large bad pixel or group of as well. I was told the same thing, black balance. Mine went away and haven’t come back yet (5 months). Let’s hope this is the way it works and they don’t come back! A bad pixel in HD is really noticeable!

In compressor – learn how to make a droplet that converts your audio to 48 k and it will be a simple drag and drop operation to convert audio.

[JeremyG] “iTunes as an audio converter works, and it’s really easy to set it up, but compressor works much better. Bring in your files, choose the advanced audio conversion to 24 or 16bit, 48k and away you go.
iTunes, you need to set up your preferences on the import tab. This works just fine, but compressor works much better and you won’t have to change your iTunes preferences every time you want to plug in your iPod or work with other music other than for FCP.”
