Okay…. I figured it out!!!! It actually had something to do with AJA Adobe plugins. Go figure.
I uninstalled them and BINGO!!!! That was the issue.

Don’t know if you saw my other reply….

I checked that. Thought I was going to feel real dumb for a moment if that were the answer…. They are both set to high and full.

No that isn’t the issue. Though I did try lower, upper and none just to be safe. Do you know how to post a pic? I can upload and show you what I’m talking about. Pixelated is an understatement. The files look…….. blotchy for lack of a better term. Almost like I was playing it back in 1/4 resolution. By the way…. I checked that as well. 🙂 I’m in full quality.

    Sorry for the addition…..

I just opened AE CS3 on the same computer and the files play just fine. There must be some setting inside CS4 that changed and I have no idea what it could be.

    Thanks,

DAMN that is almost it!!!!! Exactly what I’m looking for save for having to select the head or tail of the clip. Thanks a million. I guess this is better than what I’ve been doing.

Yep but again… it is adding additional steps. I’m being picky, I know…. it’s just frustrating. I LOVE this program, this is just a little shortcoming I guess.

Thanks Jeremy. I have been doing the old blade and delete for years now and I’m just frustrated because the old NLE I used to work on had the function I am looking for. I was able to turn off the ripple so that when I trimmed, it didn’t move all the layers around. While I understand that it works differently than AE, I still would like a way to combine the blade and delete into a single key stroke or shortcut. Just saves time.

April 7, 2009 at 6:51 pm in reply to: HD Comp Settings

Thanks for the quick response. Right now I am just dealing with graphics. No shot footage right now, but your info is good to know for the future. We are still shooting SD so I have to upconvert everything for HD. I have been using the square pixel setting so I guessed correctly. Thanks for the input.

May 12, 2008 at 4:35 pm in reply to: size of the canvas gets clipped

Thanks for the suggestion but that is not the problem. It has nothing to do with the scaling. The object that I cut out is smaller than the frame itself so it is being cut inside the frame.

The problem with parenting is I don’t want to parent the whole layer… just the flare. If I parent the layer, I won’t see the glare spots and I will see the layer edges.
