Okay… I am going crazy here and I can’t figure out what is going on. I took a frame from video (NTSC 29.97fps Beta SX). Cut out the subject, put a 5 pixel mask around it (a basic white border) and saved it as a psd with transparency. When I import the file into AE, the top and bottom of the image gets cut off. I went back to PS and made the canvas larger and I get the same problem. Here is the kicker… In AE it shows the size of the canvas but the image still gets clipped! What is going on?!!!!!

Zoom out from your comp and see if your scaling handles for the image in your comp are extended past the outter edge of the comp – if so, scale your image down to fit the comp..

If not, I guess I don’t know what’s going on (too new with AE)

I’ve run into problems where AE won’t update files with new resolutions, even though it says it is. Instead of reloading the file, try replacing it with itself and see if that helps.

Thanks for the suggestion but that is not the problem. It has nothing to do with the scaling. The object that I cut out is smaller than the frame itself so it is being cut inside the frame.
