Okay… I know how to do this but for some reason my brain has left me today. I need to track a lens flare along an objects edge. I know I could just create a path and use the path to animate the flare but my object pushes back in 3d space and I can’t get the flare to stay on its’ edge. The object is out of view passed the camera and at 90 degrees on the X axis. It then fly’s in and rotates back to zero.
Please help someone. I have been staring at my screen and slapping myself because I KNOW, I know how to do this!

    Thanks,
    Dave

The problem with parenting is I don’t want to parent the whole layer… just the flare. If I parent the layer, I won’t see the glare spots and I will see the layer edges.

What about using a toComp expression? There’s a perfect reference on Dan’s site:

    https://www.motionscript.com/mastering-expressions/lst-lens-flare.html

then you could parent the null, not the solid.
