    Eric,

Creating a looping title is usually pretty easy, but the exact ‘how-to’ will vary depending on the authoring application used. Typically all that is required is a link from the end of the segment back to the beginning. It will then continue to play until somebody presses stop or accesses a menu.

There will be a pause while the DVD player recues to the start of the segment. Just exactly what this will look like depends on the animation and the player being used. One suggestion would be to edit the animation loop into a 1-2 minute segment. That length would recue less often while still taking very little in terms of disc space.

    Hope this helps.

Seems that the projector needs adjustment. What type of signal are you sending to the projector?

[bakerzman] “Is there a known playability issue with Intervideo WinDVD? “

Encore projects I’ve created play just fine with WinDVD 5 on my system.

Your client’s inability to play the DVD could be due to so many different factors it’s hard to know where to start listing them. Getting audio without video does tend to indicate that his system can’t process the data from the DVD fast enough. What bitrate was used for your disc?

  • [Bob Cole] “Why won’t Encore accept my PCM files? “

A very good question. I assume they are 16bit @ 48KHz. I would be curious to look at one of these. If you want, email a short one to me at davef at davefriend dot com.

Have you tried to transcode them to wav files using the DR Stream software?

    J,
What roadkill describes will happen with any authoring application.

The freeze you see is a result of you cutting the program up into separate timelines. Try putting the whole show on one timeline and put chapter marks where you had previously sliced the show. Link to the chapter marks from your scene selection menu.

    Hope this helps.

Adobe Premiere Pro runs only on Windows XP
Final Cut Pro runs only on Mac

  • Bob,

I think encore wants to see a .wav file. Maybe the DR card is simply using .pcm instead of wav as the file extension type. Try changing the file extension to wav and see what encore does with it.

    Danny,

There are a number of USB to RS232 adapters on the market. That might be the easiest solution.

[M. Jones] “Now I have to find another encoder software.”

An excellent choice is the Cinema Craft Encoder. The “Basic” version is only $58 and the results are great.

    Hope this helps.

    Bill,

Have you tried creating a disc image and using your favorite disc burning app to put the image to a disc?
