[Tim Kolb] “the error is only 9/10 of a frame”
Isn’t the error actually 3/100 of a frame? (30.00 minus 29.97 = .03)

No the entire timeline, including nested ones that may be present, will be rendered.
I was talking about the ability to submit more than one distinct timeline to a render queue.

Steve,
The new versions are installed in new, distinct folders.
For instance, version 1.5 and all it’s plug-ins, presets, ect, are in
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Premiere Pro 1.5
and version 2 is in
D:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0So you won’t loose anything from the 1.5 install.
I copied the plug-ins need from my 1.5 install to the plug-in folders of the 2.0 install without trouble – with the exception of the Rtx100 stuff. Those caused PPro2.0 to fail at start-up. Everything else has worked flawlessly so far.
Version 1.5 projects have imported into V2.0 without incident too.
But I understand your reluctance to mess about with an upgrade mid-project.

…that I made a backup of my system drive before I started – just in case.

That’s what happend on my system.

If you are not interested in archiving the project across multiple DVDs then maybe an external drive should be considered. You can find decent 1342 and USB external drives that aren’t too expensive. You can archive lots of projects on the drive if you pop for one with more capacity.

Hi Alex!
[alex udell] “make the copy w/o media…”
That’s the way I’ve heard it described. But I’ve not tried it myself yet.So, found your way to the Premiere camp eh?
Still in the sunshine state?Dave

Dave,
No they did not add a render queue to PPro. A big oversight in my opinion.
Haven’t had a chance to explore this thought yet, but perhaps there is a way – via dynamic linking – to bring sequences into AE and utilize the queue there. Hummm…. something to try on Monday.

Steve,
I am in the same situation – waiting for rtx100 support. But I went ahead an installed the whole studio anyway. Don’t seem to have any problems with PPRO 2.0 and 1.5 (with matrox drivers) being on the same system. At least, haven’t had any issues just so far. But are fully functional, but of course, 2.0 can not utilize the rtx.

Hi Willie,
Thanks for the suggestions. I too am leaving 1.5 on the machine for a while.
Wonder if I CAN un/reinstall just Audition? I installed the new Production Studio, which simply ask for each of the five discs in succession. It never said which application it was installing when. Don’t really want to do the whole Studio again.
These problems have all been with new sessions so backward compatibility isn’t (shouldn’t be) the problem. And, the same session might fail the multi-channel encode one time and succeed the next. No obvious rhyme or reason.
Have you messed with the multi-ch encoder yet?
