    Hi Guys…

Just trying to understand a tpyical offline to online workflow with Pre Pro 1.5.1.

I see that you have something called the project manager that will in essence give you the option to basically make a “trimmed” version of the contents of the project window for Btach recapture.

    2 Questions…

    1) this appears to be a Redigitize workflow right? This is not the same as a file based consolidate (like in Avid for example).

    2) The workflow seems centered around the Project…not the quence correct? In other words, all sequence will be affected globally by the decisions you make in this window, not just a single sequence right? I can see the logic in that.

The answer to this plus and real world application of the workflow, successes and pitfalls would be much appreciated.

    Thanks all…

    few misconceptions their

    bottowm line…
Project manager will take your current project and sequences and eliminate excess media by making copies of the portions used in a sequence.

you can add a handle on to your edits and a few other options.

Basically this consolidates your project into one folder including all media (audio video, titles, ps files, etc.)
This project can be opened and modified much like the original, only the 2 hour video file that you used 30 seconds of will shortened to whats used plus your handle.

The benifeit of this is the procedure is lossless, nice to back up projects for use later, consolidates files that may be strewn accross your machine into one location.

I don’t believe it is setup for recaputre or anything like that.Andrew

    Hi Andrew..

Great…so there is a file based media consolidation…with handle options….
    nice!

Also for offline > Online suppose you could make the copy w/o media…

then batch all the new clips with the trimmed marks?

    Thanks….

    Hi Alex!

[alex udell] “make the copy w/o media…”
That’s the way I’ve heard it described. But I’ve not tried it myself yet.

So, found your way to the Premiere camp eh?
    Still in the sunshine state?
