Hi John,
I wanted the transition to affect only the clip on V3. What I ended up doing was using the gradient wipe transition. It didn’t give me the page peel, but since the rest of the video tracks were the same, you don’t notice the transition on them, so the final look is the gradient wipe just on the pic-n-pic window.

The whole point was so the viewer see’s the edit and knows that it’s intentional and not a mistake, without breaking up the flow of what’s being said.

Just a thought: Run task manager and watch the PROCESSES tab. It’ll tell you what your CPUs and Memory are doing. It may help confirm (or eliminate) the possibility of a processor or memory issue.

I use PPro & Plural Eyes with an EOS5dM2 & Zoom recorder frequently, and have never had any issues. I usually have the EOS5 set for “Auto Gain,” which insures decent volume levels. What are your levels on the 2Ti? Are they high enough for you to hear? When Plural Eyes doesn’t sync, what exactly happens?

I don’t know if it matters, but I use WAV files from the Zoom recorder.

Thanks for the suggestion Ann. Are you saying to work on V3 in a separate timeline, then nest that timeline into the main project? Does it work with Dynamic Linking, or is any future change in the new timeline going to have to be manually updated?

I don’t know if this is you’re problem, but I’ll share what happened to me:

The focus ring on the HPX500 is easy to accidentally move when you’re zooming. I had a very accomplished, experienced camera man do this on a shoot and about half our footage looked soft.

In our case, the person being recorded was soft, and the background was sharp. It was an outdoor shoot, in bright sunlight. It was next to impossible to see the issue on an external Marshall monitor. We checked, then double checked the backfocus on the lens and it was perfect. I did a little research and found several cameramen who said they’ve had similar problems.

IOW, be careful when you zoom not to touch your focus ring.

I guess I didn’t ask my question clearly.

The image is updating in the RED UI properly. When I run RED inside Premiere, I can still see Premiere on my second monitor. The question I wanted to ask is should I be able to see the Premiere UI interface update, while I’m working in the RED timeline and my systems’ focus is on RED, not Premiere? I was hoping that’s what Ctrl-G or the “Update monitor” setting would be for.

If I have no plug-in’s installed, is there any other reason to keep CS5 on the system when upgrading to CS5.5? Or is it just to make sure all my old projects work properly in the 5.5?

Thanks Mike. I see it’s Buss powered; I don’t believe eSata carries power. Do you know if you can run the drive on eSata and pull power from the USB Buss? My laptop doesn’t have firewire.
