Are you exporting / importing at 48 kHz? – I did 40 mins of wedding speeches through Levelator last week and it matched exactly.

Current software/drivers will only install if you have the correct firmware. I don’t recall having to update FW for the past few versions of SW.

No solution as such, you do need to un-install older drivers before installing any new ones (uninstaller included in driver download). I have a similar system to you and never had/get any problems with my Intensity Pro, it’s used for HD and component monitoring and occasional input via composite or S. It is a clean machine – OS 10.7.4, FCS3 and a few other video/audio/photo progs and no permanent internet connection. (Not too far from you if you want to chat).

FCP won’t natively import, play or edit .MTS unless you install the Panasonic AVCCAMImporter, even then I’d STRONGLY recommend you use ClipWrap instead.

I use .MTS files and FCP 7, Clipwrap is the way to go and not expensive, it’ll either re-wrap or convert for you. FreeMTS a free app from the App store and will also convert MTS files but it’s not quick. The Panasonic AVCCAMImporter (free + Google) works as a plugin for QT7 / FCP7 and allows direct import of .MTS files to FCP 7.0.3 – not recommended for anything other than a quick cut though as it’ll work like the program is stuck in treacle!

In your FCP Effects folder, 3D Transitions, Cross Zoom – put the centre point on the torch.

I ran Dual Boot (SL & L) for 3 months then did a clean install of Lion, FCS3 works fine with Lion and so does Livetype, just pop the FCS2 disk in, explore the contents, unpack the LT application and drag to the Final Cut Studio Application folder in Lion. Do a backup of all your LT templates first though, then create a folder in Lion – Library/Application Support/Livetype and drop all your templates, LiveFonts etc in there.

Jerry, re-seated gfx card – no difference. FYI the glitch shows in the canvas on playback and on my grade 2 monitor via component from a BM Intensity Pro (re-seated and drivers re-installed). Tearing out what little hair I have left over this now!
