    Hi,
I managed to import the dvd. It seems my computer didn’t like the dvd itself which was burned with one of those vdr recorders from a vhs tape. It has a menu window which I guess the computer couldn’t get past. So I downloaded a dvd decryptor and and ripped it to my computer. But I will try the above technique too! Thanks again.

I just managed to free up a little chunk of space on the bootcamp/c drive but I still am not able to import the dvd on Vegas. Could I have deleted something necessary to do that? Maybe some video app or something?

Thanks for the response John. I think you hit on it: The c drive. I am using a mac with bootcamp so I can edit in windows on Vegas. The bootcamp drive seems to get filled up very quickly – even though I’ve deleted everything I can think of from it. I’ll keep trying to get rid of more files on it.

  • Thanks. I’ll look into that program.

Thanks for your suggestion. I’m going to look into this and see what could be running.

Thank you for your quick response. Yes, I think it must be a corrupt file. Just not sure which one. Thankfully at least I had rendered a version of the project already so the corrupt file is already safely encode in that version. I’ll that that rendered file to build upon my final version.

Finally got things to work. Believe it or not, the main issue was the brand of disc. My Sony player just does not seem to like Memorex! I burned some files onto Sony media and they all play!

Ok, even for using on iMovie/idvd?

Regarding Sony Vegas – in the “render as” window I notice under “template” it gives an option to check “dvd ntsc”. I checked that when rendering my current project. Is this advised?

I’ll try the burn speed option. The imac I have is only a few months old so it should have the latest burner. Thanks again for your suggestions.
