It’s been my “watching a pot boil” experience that it seems to complete those tasks, and then once it’s all clear it will do a backup.

I would need an untouched raw clip from the card. If it’s been transcoded it may not work. You could do wetransfer which is free up to 2GB files.

I’m sorry this happened, FCP X isn’t perfect.
I know this isn’t helpful for this situation but I wonder why FCP X didn’t back up your library all that time?

I’ve upgraded several 2009s to the 12c 2.93 chips that make it faster than my maxed out 2013.
No Thunderbolt and very limiting what you can add once two double wide GPUs are installed, but for a seven year old computer, wow.
I still like the 2013 better as it doesn’t sound like a wind turbine is in the room with me.

There is a “3rd party” (hack) firmware installer that allows it to run the faster CPUs and RAM.
There isn’t much difference between a 2009 and a 2012 model once they have the same CPUs and RAM installed.

Do a search inside the library.
It may not do any good. That trick helps when the library won’t open at all.

That’s unlikely the case. They no longer support the 2009 Mac Pros, but a firmware ‘workaround’ allows you to make them into a 2010 model.
It should work fine.

You can certainly try that. Just make sure you duplicate anything you try to do surgery on.
You can also try deleting the ‘flexolibrary’ but again, make sure it’s to a copy of the library you are trying to revive.

What you can do in compressor is reverse telecine the footage and transcode to ProRes. Since the HVX records on a consistent pulldown you just need to figure out what the pulldown cadence is and make a setting.
You don’t want to use cinema tools with FCP X as it doesn’t make clips that are fully compatible with AVFoundation.
If you post one of your shorter clips I could make you a compressor droplet.

See if there is one in your fcp backups folder in your movies folder that is newer.
It’s possible that the corrupted library is unaware of a more recent backup.
