June 17, 2014 at 4:00 am in reply to: Inexplicable Colour Change from AE Quicktime Render to AE Import…You didn’t happen to use DNxHD in a 32bpc project did you? Alas such a pairing was never meant to be. There’s a long standing problem with the way DNxHD behaves in greater than 8bpc projects.
Even if you’re not using DNxHD, try using a different codec. If you need an alpha I’d recommend rendering to an image sequence unless that’s out of the question.

June 12, 2014 at 1:48 pm in reply to: Issues with Morph Deformer using ‘Source’ falloffThanks for helping Adam 🙂 those were some of my first thoughts as well. I tried changing the order of objects and adding another layer of execution with a mospline as well as a matrix. No luck.
Perhaps there’s another way to achieve the result though. I’m basically duplicating the functionality of an inheritance effector in morph motion object mode but I’m transforming points instead of axes. I’ve tried combinations of polyfx and fracture but the morph pose tag + morph deformer is the closest I’ve come so far without slowing my computer to a crawl. Can you think of another tool that might get the job done?

Make some duplicates of your R3D footage item in the project panel and play with the debayer and denoise settings on the duplicates. Compare the quality of the footage with various settings and then compare render times. It’s possible that you might be able to either get better quality or achieve better render times without much loss to quality.

The path count in your light map settings is pretty low. Light mapping can cause the same sort of artifacts with low settings. I’d recommend trying a path count setting of 10,000.
You might be able to lower the GI samples back to medium to offset the increase in render time.

I think this may depend some. If you’re only ignoring the color correction and white balance and you’re working in a high bit depth (32bpc preferred) then I don’t think there will be a problem.

May have something to do with one of the viewport redraw settings in preferences.

That’s classic irradiance cache behavior. You might be able to improve the results by increasing the record density or sampling. QMC won’t do that but it will add some noise into the render.
What are your global illumination settings?
How are you lighting the scene? Are you using lights or polygon lights? If the latter make sure that GI Area Light is enabled in the lighting/luminous material.

Not sure. It all sounds pretty kosher to me.
I’d recommend double checking that all machines are running the latest version of c4d and that the tokens/passwords are set as you expect them.
Beyond that I think some voodoo magic may be in order, team render thrives on voodoo.

Well, QMC won’t have this issue but it will require more render time. Check your cache file settings and try switching the state of Full Animation Mode.

The yellow/orange color means that you’re looking at the “outside” of a surface while the blue means it’s the “inside.”
You can switch the orientation of the surface using the Reverse Normals command the shortcut is U-R (tap u then tap r). You can also align normals with U-A. Generally I’ll run align normals on all polygons first then reverse if necessary.
