Goodwill also accepts old electronics. They send them to Dell where they are recycled properly.

Sorry, my bad, guys. I asked the question wrong. I was actually hoping that Vegas had added alternative icons but from what I can find, I guess not. I’ll try something else when I can find the time again. Thanks, Dan

I’m using V10 and V12 on the same machine with no issues. I’m doing weekly 1/2 hour television with lower thirds, titles and a few fades.

  • John, did you stop and start the camera during the event? If you did and the audio kept recording, you’ll probably need to split the camera event everywhere that it stopped and started, then rerun PE, and cut out the extra. This is what I have done, someone else may know a better way, but this works for me. Hope it helps, Dan

Well, it appears I was wrong. The “created by vegas 12” bug does appear on redered video with the trial version. I thought it would be fully functional.

I’m using Windows 7 and trial Vegas Pro 12. I also have that same watermark. I haven’t finished any projects yet, but I have a feeling that it won’t be there in the end.

Set them in a bowl of uncooked rice (on top of the rice) for a few days. Be careful not to get them into the rice because you don’t want the rice dust in the tape or your player. The rice is hygroscopic and will draw the moisture out.

Sorry, I can’t think of anything right now. You need firewire and most laptops don’t offer them anymore, and if you can’t use an expansion card, you’re stuck unless someone else has another option. Dan

If you have a PC with firewire you could upload to the PC, and then transfer to a USB flash drive unless the file is too big, in which case, transfer to an external hard drive connected via USB. Just a couple of quick options. Dan

  • I’ll just ask the question because I don’t know. Would tools-scripting-stereo to mono work in this case? It’s not an area that I use often, but I had a client bring in some tapes for transfer that were recorded in mono and that’s what I did to get the audio out of both sides. Thanks for answering, Dan
