Created on Sony Vegas Pro 12
Posted by Mark Thompson on September 29, 2012 at 2:52 pmHi, I’ve tried new pro 12 (eval) and on the previews it comes with the new logo and slogan “Created on Vegas Pro 12”. Is that just because it is an eval edition? I presume it will Render tha way too but I haven’t tried.
I had a few crashes already on simple projects. On one I was dragging a preview to a second screen, however when I hit the button on preview for vegas it all seems well.
I had a project and moved the events to another directory and I would expect it not to work but it seemed to continuously crash.
I recreated the project and all is well so far.I’m on Windows 8 and it installed an update for nvidea card, that may have helped as well.

The full version does not do that so I assume that is an evaluation limitation.

Since Windows 8 has not been released yet and Vegas Pro 12.0 doesn’t support it yet, it looks like you’re Sony’s first beta tester. 😉 I wouldn’t expect anything to work that hasn’t been tested so you’re really out on your own here.

September 29, 2012 at 4:16 pmAs John said, Windows 8 isnt released as yet, so you are on your
own a bit. The full version of Vegas doesnt have that embedded

September 30, 2012 at 3:27 amI’ve got the bought version of Vegas Pro 12 after spending weeks testing the Beta version. I don’t have any of the watermarks you mention.
I’ve had a couple of crashes too that I never had with version 11. I guess eventually Sony will sort out the cause.

September 30, 2012 at 2:58 pmI’m using Windows 7 and trial Vegas Pro 12. I also have that same watermark. I haven’t finished any projects yet, but I have a feeling that it won’t be there in the end.

September 30, 2012 at 10:43 pmwell, I’ve answered the question as to whether the watermark appears after render – you can’t render on the eval edition (or at least it won’t for me 🙁 ).

October 2, 2012 at 5:04 amI am able to Render on the paid version.
Not sure whether you can on the trial version – you probably can, just got confused by the new dialog. -

October 3, 2012 at 12:57 pmWell, it appears I was wrong. The “created by vegas 12” bug does appear on redered video with the trial version. I thought it would be fully functional.

October 9, 2012 at 12:45 amI recall when CS first came on the market it too used the graphics processor and caused me personally a lot of problems. I had to turn off using the GPU to get stability.
I decided then to purchase a brand of graphics card the big A recommended and had no further problems. Currently I use a Radeon (40nm) HD5850 with 1 gig of GDDR5 RAM running at 1000 MHz.
I had to upgrade the driver after installing VP 12 to get any stability. Even now, Its still not as stable as I need. I’ve ordered a new Radeon card with more RAM on it expecting this will fix the stability issues.
Be warned that these super high performance graphics cards need 750 – 1200 watt power supplies . They need almost as much power just to drive the card as the whole PC uses!. I’ve got 16 Gig of RAM in my i7 using an Asus motherboard.
Hope this helps.

December 13, 2012 at 9:31 amI have been using Vegas since version 7. I have assessed every upgrade by doing a full paid project on it. I Upgraded to 8, 10 and 11 in this way. I have today started a project on v12 but have just found out I won’t be able to use the final version as it is watermaked?!
Sorry, Sony I’ll just be sticking with v11, I reckon.

As has already been mentioned in this thread, pay for it and the watermark goes away.
