As I understand it CS6 will continue to be on sale but will not be supported. I honestly couldn’t think how Adobe could screw up the epic gift Apple gave them but to their credit they seem to have found a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory..

I’m seeing outraged Photoshop users all over the web spluttering about $2500 and their recent CS6 purchase thrown in the bin. I bet Adobe fold and make an exception for Photoshop at least or it’s going to be the most pirated program in history.

  • I’m not following; how this is any better than going through an interview on Avid using in&out points and subclipping with a new bin with a couple of keywords in the subclip name..
Am I missing something? Perhaps the time for another look is coming near..

Aindreas is this a price issue? Is there a price where you would be willing to RIP? If so, what would you say it was?

I like to have access to a recent photoshop & after effects, very VERY occasionally illustrator and if premiere was on my system I’d probably give it more attention (I use MC & FCPL).
But my old versions of PS and AE are paid for and working fine for what I need (occasional offline support stuff)..

So for me about half what they’re asking would make it a pretty easy call even if half the set would never be touched. But I can easily see spunking a grand before I really needed any of them which, given I pay London rent every month, makes me hurt inside..

Welcome to the 21st Century. Fact is people can get your film/software for FREE RIGHT NOW on a SILVER PLATTER. Charging the legit people more, or making their lives more difficult, is only going to make things worse.
I don’t know what the answer is, but a grand a year with no security and no ownership doesn’t feel like it to me..

Thinking some more about this – have Adobe created a situation where it is professionally irresponsible NOT to have a pirated ‘offline’ copy in the office?

Perhaps this is a response to being on the most pirated of all time charts so consistently.
But I think it’s just going to cause them a torrent of new problems..
