What if we are running server? I really do want all of my footage in one database so that I can search all of it.
Is that a bad practice? -
Spent two hours yesterday with Adobe support doing remote diagnostics with no luck. The guy just kept reducing source file resolution hoping the frames would stop dropping and never did. It even drops frames when playing back nothing! Playing a blank timeline causes dropped frames. Waiting on tier 2 support to call back. Not holding my breath.
Tried every possible setting for software vs GPU and a million other settings.
I guess if it is hardware, I am going to have to install Final Cut X and see if it still happens and hopefully it will and then Apple can deal with it. -
Thanks for that. Just installed and tried it out. Same problem. 10 dropped frames in 30 secs. Usually 2 and 3 at a time.

Files with alpha channels are coming in corrupt. From Support “This is a bug that we have logged for the Premiere pro, it is happening with the PNG files as well as any mov file with the transparency (alpha channels) the workaround here is to revert to the older version”

Lots of problems here with the new build! Adobe support is jammed up with long waits!

This is bad! The launch screen doesnt work, but clicking on files for me will open them but now PNG files are corrupt! Chat support hold cue is backlogged! Mac version. I thought the .1 was supposed to be the most reliable and ready to work version!

February 14, 2018 at 8:41 pm in reply to: Keyframing still photos in Premiere with Tangent Wave color grade panel?Back in the day, DaVinci film color correction panels had a button you could press to activate zoom and pan features to a trackball. However that is where that died. Pretty sure Adobe has not provided the hooks in the toolkit for third party developers to access. Hope I’m wrong. I have the full Tangent Panel set and have been begging them to allow cropping with knobs and zoom with a knob. You can only move so quick moving a mouse and clicking on thing at a time.

Other than that, how is the new Pro Imac working for you? Any update from Adobe? My experience has been that both parties point the finger at each other.
Are the exports bad on all formats including pro res? -
Tests done and conclusion reached.
As Shane said, it is out of our control.
After reading Vimeo’s advice to download your converted file and check it against the original, I saw that when opening it with VLC it looks like the original.
They state that all web browsers across the different platforms have different colorspace decoding and seldom will you get accurate results.
As a test I used Chrome and Safari to just open the mp4 direct. And of course the color space is wrong. Case closed. Web browsers suck for video. Have not tested with IOS or Android since the screens are also set to varying degrees of color and luminance enhancement.
Results were the same whether encoded straight h264 or vimeo preset whether inside Premiere Pro or Adobe Media Encoder. Did not test any encoder from any other party. Probably should. Also what Greg said about abandoning QT player is sound advice. It will not playback with the original colorspace of the source file.

Ahh, yes I use that. But isnt the encoding engine the same as when launched from inside premiere for export? I am not expecting different color results but I am trying anyway.
