  • Latest version cleared yet? New Imac Pro?

Anyone tested and cleared the latest update from Adobe for Premiere Pro 12.0.1 as ready for use? I am always hesitant to upgrade from a working version to what may be a buggy new version.

Also has anyone received and configured a new Imac Pro? Anxious for feedback beyond the early press versions. My 2013 trash can needs a break.

    Works as advertised.

I have an iMac Pro, latest IOS latest CC – I cannot export videos correctly from it so I’m not over the moon.

I am having to add a ‘fake’ grade to exports so they come out correctly as Premiere is washing out colours. Currently speaking to Adobe about it – Apple washed their hands of it pretty quickly.

Does it? Are your exports the correct colour?

Other than that, how is the new Pro Imac working for you? Any update from Adobe? My experience has been that both parties point the finger at each other.
Are the exports bad on all formats including pro res?

It’s a colour space issue apparently, one that is more apparent as the new iMac screen is ‘better’ than the old one. You can see the shift on any type of export though I’m told it’s actually what the file is viewed on afterwards rather than Premiere.

The Pro is about 10 time faster at exporting most files than the old iMac I was using (2011 high spec) – oddly short 30-50 second films are not faster to export though, which is annoying!

Oh and in terms of performance – for some reason Generating Peak Audio files takes just as long with an iMac Pro. Which is annoying…
