One thing you could add to the instructions above would be a light or particle burst right when the clothes falling occurs, that way it would mask the transition between the two and hopefully hide the certain differences between them.

You’re not supposed to import the files from your camera (That’s called capturing footage). You need to capture your footage from your camera with a capturing program like Adobe Premire Pro or even Microsoft Movie Maker if you use windows.

After effects imports files that already exist on your hard drive, I’ve never heard of anyone importing from a camera or other device.

If there’s a way to do it I’ve never heard of it.

I’m pretty sure you could get that effect by using the “tint” or “Exposure” effect. Maybe even just creating a new solid with that orangeish color and then keyframing the opacity and exposure.

Shouldn’t be too hard though, just start flipping switches I always say. Haha, hope that helps.

    Hey Oliver,

I think I know whats going on here. after you drop your footage into a new comp, there is a little button at the bottom of the video window. It’s just to the right of the “1 view” dropdown arrow, it’s a rectangle with a line and an arrow point on each end above it. If you hover over it with your mouse it’s called “Toggle pixel aspect ratio correction” Click that and see if it makes your comp appear full wide (16.9).

As far as rendering out, click on the word “lossless” then I select “stretch” then “HDTV 1080 30Fps”, you’ll have to match the same as the footage you shot unless you’re up or down converting. Don’t forget to click the checkmark on your audio too if you have audio.

    I’m using,

    Windows Vista (Latest version)
    2.6 Mhz pentium dual Core
    6 G ram
    64 bit

As I Said before, it has worked fine for the last 8 months but now is having the problem. I have not made any changes, downloads or added any new hardware.

My system has always run the program great til now.

    Hmmmm?

If you’re using PC I would use .Avi. I don’t have a lot of success with .Mov on PC. I suggested both because I wasn’t sure what you were using. But try .Avi 1st. Hope you get this before you do all .Mov…

Yeah that is strange. When you click on the export option, Adobe Media Encoder should come up automatically. How long is the movie and has it all been rendered before export?

If it’s HD footage then Mpeg 2 would probably be your only choice, especially to get it on dvd’s, (I capture all my HD as mpeg 2) but if its Standard Definition then I would use Avi. or .Mov. What is the running time of the footage and do you use Mac or PC?

Yeah, I wouldn’t use the “Lighting Effects” to lighten up a dark scene. What I do in this case is go into the Hue&Saturation, then go into the individual settings, mainly “Gamma”. I also go into the “RGB Curves” and tweek the higher points of the diagonal line (don’t pull the line all the way to the borders though or that will begin to blow out your scene). The brightness/contrast works too but be careful again not to blow out the lightness or add noise.

Use all these combined and with a little pushing and pulling you should be able to make a good improvement.

    Hope this helps.
