Problem using video effects. Please Help!
Hello, I searched the net and read through my help file but can’t figure this one out.
I’m trying to add lighting to a badly shot scene.
I go to video effects, select “adjust” and then “lighting effects” and drag and drop it onto my clip and fix it the way i want it.But, then when i try to play it, I can only hear audio and no video shows.
I’ve tried rendering the work area but it doesn’t do any rendering.I’m stuck.
Anybody know what i am doing wrong?Ps. not using Adobe After Effects, just Adobe Premiere Pro CS3.

Good Morning Glenn,
I usually use lighting effects to add a spotlight or effect to a video. The Brightness and contrast control under color correction is in my opinion a much faster and easier way to brighten a scene that is too dark in all portions of the clip. Levels and luminence controls are also helpful. Make sure that you clicked on the Transform icon next to lighting effects to display the adjustment handles and Center circle.

Yeah, I wouldn’t use the “Lighting Effects” to lighten up a dark scene. What I do in this case is go into the Hue&Saturation, then go into the individual settings, mainly “Gamma”. I also go into the “RGB Curves” and tweek the higher points of the diagonal line (don’t pull the line all the way to the borders though or that will begin to blow out your scene). The brightness/contrast works too but be careful again not to blow out the lightness or add noise.
Use all these combined and with a little pushing and pulling you should be able to make a good improvement.
