  • if/when you accomplish all that was mentioned, a nice touch is add some of the lighting changes back in by using the reverse of your green screen key.

in my experience having a nice contrast luma mark to track is great.

but you can track a green/yellow cross on a greenscreen when you have to these days.

id still take high contrast mark first though

i dont have particular in front of me, but if you look on the settings, i think there is a ramp/graphic for particle size. click the reverse on there to swap the direction of the ramp so they shrink over time instead of grow

if you want to just track on one channel you can precomp your footage and set it to that channel only.

noise is your enemy so you dont want to push the footage to far.

careful with removing noise as well as too much will affect your track as well.

anyway to track part of the foreground images (you dont mention what th shot is so….)

look at the indiviual color channels to see if there is anything there… a levels may help at the same time to increase the contrast.

whats the rest of the shot look like. what do you need to track it for? (sometimes its easier to find a solution by knowing the end result vs a possible way there)

it comes in handy if you want to render a generic version of a major render, than a bunch of versions from that as you can put the placeholder in multiple comps so that you can do an unattended render…
