oh geez, that made big difference. I increased the speed and lined the emitter up and angled it accordingly. was a simple fix that I don’t think I would’ve stumbled onto.
thanks for your time.

that makes sense, thanks! though right now I’m having a hard time getting particles to go through three handles let alone ten, ugh.
hope all is well

thanks Jim! very nice of you. I tried with a simpler spline (an arc) and evenly spaced out the handles but got this strange effect of it going through first handle then just stopping and not continuing the path. the emitter is placed right at the head/tip of the spline.
the particles look like they hit a ceiling/stop moving?
I set the emission to Rate, Emit all frames & full lifespan.
let me know if you have any thoughts? I appreciate your time.
hope all is well

newbie to C4D, and I try my hardest to figure out these problems before I ask the forum. so don’t post too much. I love EJ’s tutorials, and been following that exact one but always run into this issue of the explosion of the soft body.
Is it something about a motext object? doesn’t happen when I just play around with spheres as soft bodies.
hope all is well

here is the project file. let me know if you are able to download? the CCow interface is a lil confusing as to how you attach files.

well that would make sense. don’t know why there’s a difference between the two? one’s a tool? one’s an effect?
i tried that but it still looks the same.
when you select that tool, it creates it’s own layer with its own transform properties, but no tweaking the draft mode makes it look any better./Users/diptriana/Desktop/Screen shot 2011-11-15 at 11.38.59 AM.png
i’m still stuck on this one. thinking i might have it laid out in photoshop where it can be properly aliased and such (or anti, etc.) and then lay it in in either AE or FC, but then worry that compressing it in there as a still (jpeg) will result in the same jagged edges?
still stuck,
big fat huh,

sorry for the confusion across renders.
when i worked in a 720×480 comp, i would render it out at that.
and the same for the 1920×1080. I just did the two to see if it made a difference.in my comp, for now at 720×480, i just created a layer (that is at 720 x480, in ‘pixels’ for units)
I added the effect: basic text.
that is the only effect i have on it,
the text is only scaled to 90%but still jagged,
any ideers?
thanks,

thanks for chiming in! I searched previous posts and this seems to be peculiar problem.
but here goes, in CS.5
my comp is small 720 x480. layer is the same, units at pixels,
in the comp window, have it set to full, at 50% (just for the sake of space)
when i render, i’m using apple pro res (hq).
i’m able to get a decent render at 720…, set to best, full in the output module.
in the screen shot you see how it looks in after effects, and to the right is the rendered version.
*( I don’t know if you can open it embedded in the message like this (?) I forgot how to attach in a post.)at this point, my eyes might be getting screwey as far as these lines go. the client keeps complaining after some previous versions that were really jagged so i just want to make it look “sharp” for them.
thanks again
i hope all is well,
