That is what seems strange to me. I have had other projects that work just fine, it was just this recent one that is having major issues. I did watch is write files to the new location and it got stuck on one file in particular. This file was also the one that would get corrupted by the process (going from 26GB to 700mbs) and then therefore not re-linking correctly. I have re-exported it and it link back fine but then have still had issues if I try the project manager again.

I am was OSX 10.8 writing to estata raid pulling footage via AFP from our shared storage.

I eventually was able to get the copy and collect files to work but it seems like more luck at this point.
I am still pretty concerned that the trimmed project option would pretend to work but then a bunch of clips would be messed up. (Frozen frames, wrong timecode, etc. ) Edit is short, not seeing issues with clips that have speed changes or something just overall strange.

    Thanks!

I would add to this list the ability to transcode via Media Encoder and have the original frame rate be pass-through rather than set ahead of time.

We often fill cards/reels with multiple frame rates and currently can’t use prelude because their is no way to batch encode all files to prores without specifying a frame rate. You can’t even sort by frame rate to apply specific frame rate preset.

I too have submitted this via https://www.adobe.com/go/wish/

Thanks for starting this! Really want to use prelude just need a few more features to come along.

    Hi Peter,

Curious if you have ever renamed files prior to doing an offline to online edit with Canon 1DC footage?

We would prefer to work in ProRes 422 1920X1080 and use a naming structure that helps identify where each clip is from.

I did some testing with both Resolve was able to reconform to the renamed original files from the proxies, I am just wondering if I am losing anything in the process…

    Thanks for the thoughts.

  • Same question. I am trying to capture some VHS footage and was hoping that I could up convert on capture.

Ya that is what I have been doing. Just concerned because I have an hour long film that I am going to Media Manage soon and it would be a nightmare to try and copy and paste all the keyframes for that.

Going to do some more testing today and will let you know.

    Hi Jeremy,

I posted one earlier in the thread. Is there something specific you would like me to screen grab for you?

    Thanks,

Thanks for looking around Andrew. I was able to find a slight work around by exporting an XML of the sequence, then importing into a new project, then doing the media manage.

Honestly just want to figure out why it is doing it on some clips and not everything.

    Jeremy,

We bust out a bunch of 2-5 minute edits and would rather not have 200GB per episode. Instead opting for 20GB or so per finished edit.

I have done some test both including and not including masters and affiliates and still run into an issue where my keyframes are sliding/moving on the media managed sequence.

Is this possibly an issue with subclips or something strange like that?

    Thanks,

    Danny

    Hi Jeremy,

The goal of this media manage is to archive the edits and project for putting on LTO tape. I want to keep everything important so if we need to, we can do small tweaks or exports in the future.

    Thanks again for the help,

    Danny

    Hi Jeremy,

Would recommend against including masters and affiliate clips? I have tried using both options and can’t really see any difference.

    Thanks,

    Danny
