Also lighting is very important when chromakeying. Getting the green screen evenly lit and backlighting the forground subject is very necessary if you use the chromakey plugin in Sony Vegas. It does not have spill supression. Spill supression helps remove any green than may show up on the edges of the forground, so that’s why backlighting the subject help with this. Some people use a magenta gell on the backlight since it’s the opposite color of green. Putting as much space between the screen and the forground subject also helps in reducing spill. If your shooting standard def DV footage, I always put a chroma blur plugin before the chromakey pluging in the chain and set the blur to medium. this helps alot with the jaggy edges commonly seen when chromakeying DV footage. Try “Keepvid” to save the youtube video, save the mp4 “High quality” if available, import into Vegas and render to the same aspect ratio WMV if you need it in that format. The mp4 will play in Media player and look the same as on youtube. Hope this helps, Danny Hays

You can raise the bitrate in the custom, video tab for the WMV and mpeg 2 I know for sure. Danny

You should be able to just click in the track header, by the volume fader but on a blank area and drag the tracks to what ever position you want them in. As far as the razor tool, select the video or wave event to highlight it and put the curser where you want to split and hit the s key. By default the audio and video tracks captured together are grouped and both will split with this method. To ungroup the audio and video tracks, select both and hit the u key to ungroup them. You can use Windows media player to rip the CD, then import into Vegas. Danny Hays

You can put clips 1 and 3 on the same track and use the track effects instead of event effects. This will effect all the events on that track. Put clip 2 on a different track. Hope this helps, Danny Hays

The horizontal lines may be visable interlacing. Try setting the project settings to progressive, blend fields. Also try rendering as progressive and see if that helps. Hope this helps.

If the part you want masked out is the only black in the video, you can chromakey it out too.

If the camera does have a firewire connection and a composite and audio input, you can set Vegas to disable device control and video should pass through for capture. If not capture to the firewire camera then capture inti Vegas. Danny Hays
