    Hi

Im new to all this. I just got myself a sony hd-sr12e and sony vegas pro 8.1 (as I use vista 64 on an AMD Phenom quad 9950 Black edition with 4GB ddr2 1066 ram).

I just read on a separate thread that I should match my project settings to the video files im importing.

I shoot at the highest HD settings.

So my question is what settings should I use to render for the following scenarios (keeping in mind the best possible output possible):

    1) to play on my PC
    2) to burn to DVD
    3) to burn on blu-ray

    Thanks

I just read on a separate thread that I should match my project settings to the video files im importing….That is true.

    1) to play on my PC———Windows Media Format (WMV).
    2) to burn to DVD———–MPEG2 Format.
    3) to burn on blu-ray——-MPEG2 Blu-Ray Format.(various templates)

    Thanks for your reply.

Should I use the default settings for your recommended settings?

When I used the WMV settings to view on my pc, the result was that the final output was a bit blurry, I mean it was not as sharp as the original. Is this a setting or has it something to do because it changed from interlaced to progressive?

You can raise the bitrate in the custom, video tab for the WMV and mpeg 2 I know for sure. Danny

Original is 16Mbps. Try 10Mbps in WMV.
Use “Unsharpen Mask”, “light or medium.”
Try “Color Corrector”, “Studio to computer”
