No, If you plug the HD into the Shuttle or the Studio they will not recognize the drive at all.

I’m not complaining! Your prices have forced other other companies to compete! I have had a 98% up time with Blackmagic design gear…

I did have 4 power supplies for HyperDeck Studios die the other day…. kind of odd… I had 5 of them plugged into a power strip. I used them one night, then shut them down via a power strip. Turn the power strip on the next morning and 4 out of the five didn’t working. The one supply works on all of my HDS in what ever I plug it into…. but the other 4 don’t work in different outlets or different HDS…. crazy!

I need to get new ones from BMD…..

Besides that, I have been happy with the gear!

I bought a shuttle from B&H the other day and it was the Shuttle 1. I’m sending it back Monday. I hope they are able to identify the shuttle 2 box and send me one…. I would have thought that bh had a high enough turn over they would have had the new one in stock.

Just an FYI for BMD and anyone who might be ordering soon.

We haven’t been able to get TC, so I have someone logging when all of the camers are shooting the same action and the guys cutting just sync by eye. TC Would be amazing!

I opened the file perfectly with the Beta Version of Calibrated MXF Import! Its a shot of a water slide with a white hot flash to a spine.

I’m using a StarTech Dock. It’s the cheap version for the 4 port dock. This one has 4x eSata connections on the back. I loose about 100MBs a second on the transfer using the dock. But when I’m transferring 4 drives at a time it’s still faster then my internal raid on the mac pro.

The dock came with 4x eSata cables…

Here is a photo of the last gig I did with it.

This is great to know, thank you Andreas!

Do you or any one know if there is a way to timecode sync multiple HyperDeck Studios? I need to ISO 6 cameras on live productions.

So what DNxHD codec is it? 220, 145? or Can I choose from a few of them?

Also has any one had a chance to test this with long format? like an hour or two?

I would love to be able to replace the Ki Pros with something that will fit into a rack

October 26, 2010 at 2:35 pm in reply to: Kona 3 HD to SD….

16×9 is the way to go. Most of the TVs that people are going to have anymore are going to be HD 16×9 TVs. So when the TV or blue ray players scale the video up to fit the display it will fill the screen. No black behind the times in the quality of your deliveries pillars or window box.

So I don’t have a second large workstation with another kona card. But I do have a hi5 hdmi to sdi. I’m thinking about trying to connect it to my display out of my macbook pro and playing it off of that and in to my workstation….

I’m slammed right now, but I might try this later tonight.
    Thanks everyone for the input.
    dan.
