The top light looks like a gradient though in the luminance channel and I cant use both fresnel and gradient. Could the glow as well just be a post effect in after effects?

I think so yes, the movement is all sporadic and uncontrollable, I was wondering is it possible to control the spheres being traced and the tracing connecting poles sort of adapt and follow.
