    Hi. You could try re-installing the software and seeing if this sorts out the firmware.

    Should run fine. You may be limited in terms of external peripherals as a mojo will conflict with any other fw device like storage. However, that said the i dont know if this limitation applies to using the fw 400 and 800 ports. But software-wise you should be fine, as i have run MC soft on my imac at home which is lower spec (1st generation intel 17″).

    Is updating the software to 6.02 or.03 viable for you? I think 6.01 was a little buggy.

    Hi. How is the internal hard drive looking? If it is near full, that would be the cause of serious slowdown. Try to keep at least a third of your internal hard drive empty. The other thing to try would be reapiring your permissions using the Disk Utility.

    Are you sending from FCP to Compressor? If so, try exporting a QT ref, and then opening compressor as a stand alone appliccation. The “Send To” is no good really. Either takes forever or crashes. Also try targetting a different drive, maybe the desktop and also reset background encoding in compressor.
