So, I did some research over the weekend. Adobe had a nice article on their site. When I remove the OpenGL plug-in to the desktop and re-launch AE the warning goes away. I guess the video card in my MacBook isn’t powerful or awesome enough to deal with the OpenGL stuff. Am I doomed?

Can the video card be replaced in a MacBook? I’d consider throwing an nvidia card in there to make it better if needed.

Why oh why did I try and save money by buying a MacBook instead of a MacBook Pro?!?

    Seriously, am I doomed?

    Thanks.

Yeah. That’s what I couldn’t figure out. I can’t have the shot from straight above, it has to be around 45 degrees, maybe even 60 degrees.

What if I took a picture of the field from the top, full corn and then again with corn gone, then I took a picture of the field from the ground [sides of corn stalks]?

Then I could turn all the layers into 3D layers in AE, cut the logo out of the full corn layer, raise it up higher than the empty field layer, and take the side shots of corn stalks and place them perpendicular all along the edge of the logo.

Do you think that would look realistic? And the people will be a challenge too.

    Thanks.

Trapcode Particular was the answer. I messed with the settings for a few hours and got something close to what I wanted, so I’m moving on.

    Thanks.

So, it worked. I animated the camera in Invig. I moved it back and down, so the logo looked like it got smaller and went into the upper left corner in the comp.

    Thanks.

That’s too bad. The problem with using the layer scale property is that the perspective is off when I do that. Any way to get around that?

What I’m trying to do is have the logo shrink and move up into the upper left corner of the comp. When I use the layer’s scale and position, I can definately move it up there, but the perspective of the 3D doesn’t change, which makes it look not so good.

I’m using the comp’s camera in Invig. Should I not do that? Maybe I could fake it if I move the Invig camera back?

    Thanks.

What I want to happen is a 3D logo grows out of a 2D business card. I thought there might be a way to move an object’s anchor point in Invig, like I do in AE.

    Thanks.

Sorry for the vagueness. I rendered 720×486, NTSC, Animation Compression, 29.97, lower field first. Then I did one with upper field first; neither worked.

The strange thing is that I’ve always used Animation codec and 720×486, lower field first and it always worked, until he updated his Avid software to Composer Adreniline 2.6.4

I even went to Avid’s site, and they say Animation codec is okay to use.

After some tweaks, it works great…except the reflection is doing the exact opposite of what I want. When solid1 is on the left of the screen, solid1’s reflection is on the right. They meet and pass eachother in the center of the comp. I guessing I have to multiply some expression by -1, but I don’t know which??
