January 16, 2012 at 5:13 pm in reply to: Creating Transport Streams in Episode Pro?

Sorry, I forgot to say–I’m on a Mac.
All the specs I got were these:
    • Unencrypted (in-the-clear)
    • HD or SD
    • MPEG2 or MPEG4-AVC (TV or STB must support chosen format)
    • AC3 audio (or any audio supported by the TV or STB)
    • Less than 500 MB (MegaBytes) in size
    • Constant BitRate (CBR) is preferred over Variable BitRate (VBR)
    • Container must be a valid MPEG-2 Single Program Transport Stream (SPTS)

    Recommend bitrates:
    • <6Mbps for MPEG2 SD
    • <12Mbps for MPEG2 HD
    • <6Mbps for MPEG4-AVC (HD or SD)

As I mentioned, I’m new to this type of output, but do these specs seem reasonable? I’d be interested to see how compressed my motion graphics will look with these specs.

    Thanks.

December 1, 2011 at 3:37 pm in reply to: Canon t2i hdmi out

Turns out it’s a bad display. All the cables work, and I just connected the t2i to my tv with HDMI and it works like a charm.

For some reason, I always assume it’s some hidden menu item somewhere that I have to track down.

    Thanks.

I forgot to mention that I run a small business, and I can’t afford to have any down time. If OS 10.6 takes down my FCP, I’m in big trouble.

    Thanks.

June 11, 2011 at 5:21 pm in reply to: Best Wide Angle Lens for Canon T2i Video?

I also have a T2i and was looking to replace my kit lens because it wasn’t fast enough in low light situations and it had soft focus in the wide range. I ended up getting the Canon 17-55 f2.8. It was out of my price range, but I never regret spending the extra $$. I tested it side by side with the tamron and found the Canon lens to have a smoother focus ring. The tamon also focus ring is opposite to all my other lenses.

Here my question: does anyone know of a cheap T2i wide prime that is f 1.8? Like a 18mm f1.8 prime for $600? I’m looking for a fast, wide prime lens for a night shoot with a glidecam hd 1000.

    Thanks.

  • Has anyone heard which is more prone to dead pixels on the sensor? I have a 3CCD camera that got a dead pixel after 1 year of light use. I also have a CMOS camera.

Someone told me that all 3CCD cameras will get a dead pixel or 5 in their life time.

Any word on CMOS in that area?

    Thanks.

What’s the plug-in from Digital Heaven called? Also, is there pixel compensation for the JVC GY-HM100U?

    Thanks.

Does anyone have any cool examples of vertical motion graphics? I’m starting a project and need inspiration.

    Thanks.

Yeah, but the letters don’t interact with the edges of the preComp they just fly off the edge and come back.

Thanks for the idea. Maybe there’s and expression that will keep the letters inside the preComp?

    Thanks.

That’s some great info. I have 4 GB of RAM, so I’m excited to start using both cores to the fullest!

    Thanks.
