It doesn’t work on mine. Best of luck to you though. Make sure to make a backup before you upgrade!

  • No problem. RAM preview should make no difference on exporting from Premiere, so I have a feeling something else is going on. Maybe the in or out points not set at the proper points of the clip? Glad you have a way that is working at least.

  • I’m a little confused about what your issue is. What is your end goal? Are you trying to get a logo open from AE to Premiere without exporting it? If so, use Adobe Dynamic Link in Premiere (File –> Adobe Dynamic Link–> Import After Effects Composition) and import the logo composition from your After Effects file.

As far as H.264 in AE, if you have Premiere and/or a CC subscription, you have Adobe Media Encoder. To export H.264 from After Effects, export to Media Encoder instead of adding to your render queue.

    Hope that helps.

  • I would go with the tracking for as long as it works, then switch to good old-fashioned manual rotoscoping for the final second or so when he puts the helmet on. It sucks, but so does spending hours trying to get a track to work.

It works for me, but I am by no means a heavy user of the script. Maybe the error applies to a function I don’t use or maybe it’s an innocuous bug, but I guess you don’t know until you try.

I got that the first time I opened DuIK. I just clicked OK and everything works fine. Does the script window open for you?

I would consider importing your AE clips into Premiere Pro using Dynamic Link instead of exporting ProRes to Final Cut. Then you can make changes in AE that will update automatically in PP without having to re-export.

Are you trying to set a video layer as a custom texture map? Or is it a completely separate layer apart from your Element layer? If so, it won’t show up in the Element 3D interface. If you are just trying to position or size a 3D model, don’t do that from the Element 3D window; do it from the Effect Controls panel by using the Group and World controls.

Some more info (or a screenshot) could be helpful in trying to understand what you are trying to achieve.

If you think you’ll be doing a lot of animation, Illustrator and Photoshop often come in handy when working in AE.

I’m not sure what training your employer is providing, but if you want to get a head start, I would suggest VideoCopilot.net, lynda.com, and of course, right here at the COW.

If you rename the layer in the timeline before you change the text, it will not update when you change the text.
