You are looking for the Project Manager under the File menu.

It will run choppy as it creates the RAM preview. When you complete and playback a RAM preview, does it still run choppy? Are the stills very large? Try previewing at a lower resolution if you need it to render faster.

  • Fair enough. I certainly understand your annoyance at the bugs. I find the advantages of Premiere far outweigh what are, for me anyway, minor bugs. But if it’s not the right software for you, the good thing is there are other options out there.

  • I think Premiere Pro is a great editing program. I use Premiere and After Effects 2015.3 on a daily basis for numerous types of projects and rarely run into bugs now. Final Cut, and to a lesser extent Avid, has numerous bugs as well. I guess it just depends on which ones you are willing to put up with. I will admit Adobe’s new releases are always riddled with bugs, but if you wait a while before updating, it’s generally pretty smooth.

Are the dimensions of your title larger than your sequence?

You can copy and paste the scale keyframes (zoom effect) onto all your photos, use the Sequence Layers command to offset them, precompose everything, and then use time-remapping with the Graph editor to gradually speed up the effect.

  • Keep in mind any movement of the spaceship, AE camera, and/or green screen camera will throw off the perspective of your pilot and the shot won’t work. If it’s just one angle and the ship flies in a straight line, you may be able to make it work.

I’ve never added a pilot into a flying space craft, but this is how I would first attempt it. First, scale and position your pilot where he should go on top of the cockpit. Then create a group Null in Element and parent your pilot layer to that. Finally, draw masks on the pilot layer to make him appear inside the cockpit.

DNxHD is a high quality editing codec made by Avid. DV/HDV is low-quality and essentially outdated for current standards.

Sounds like you have the Collapse Transformations box checked. A screenshot of your whole workspace could help identify if that is or isn’t the issue.

  • Just go back to CC2015.3. It works great. Adobe’s new releases always are pretty buggy, particularly on Macs.

To be fair, Apple’s latest OS releases have had the same issue. It’s like these companies are in a race to release the next big thing so they don’t take the time to test them properly first.
