Here’s what I get in my console:

After hand-placing the plugins in the AMA folder (since the installers aren’t working), I did the console check. And the complete list of plugins showed up in the console:
AVCHD
MSP_MXF
MSP_SONY
Sphere
AVCHD MVP
MVP_CanonXF64
MVP_MSP_ARRI_MXF
AS-02 Plug-in
Ikegami
PanasonicPW
Quicktime Plug-in
RED R3D

But when I try to connect via ama to the C300 camera files, I get the same issue.
I can only link to individual MXF files when I drill down into the folders.

My AVID was just installed about a week ago.
You think re-installing would help?

Hi Kevin,

It seems to work some of the time and not others.
Here’s my setup.

I have all the original camera files on “Drive A” from a canon c300 camera.
All the transcoded MXF files (at DV resolution) are on “Drive B” in the Avid MediaFiles folder.
All the clip names have been changed in my bins, to be more descriptive.

I go to the bin and delete one of the clips as a test, and only delete the media file, while keeping the master file.

Then when I try to do the Batch Import, only the newly named clip name shows up, not the path and old name. So I track down the path name by adding “Source/Path” to my bin columns. There I see the path and the original clip name, so then I navigate to the original camera file, and try to import.
I get various types of error messages, and the file fails to import and replace the offline media.

As an aside, I’m also having problems with linking to AMA.
I just moved Media Composer over to a new computer, reinstalled, and have had trouble getting the AMA to work. Could that be the root of the issue? (I plan to ask about this in a separate post)

Any thoughts?

My format tab says “23.976pNTSC” (not 23.976/1080p)
The video column says “1:1 (NTSC)

I’m assuming this means I’m in SD in this project by accident?
And that’s why I might have transcoded everything into SD??

If so, what’s the best way to migrate over to HD without rebuilding my timelines from scratch?
I’m assuming I’ll need to re-import the footage into a properly formatted project in 1080?

Select the low res clips in the bin.

Select the sequence.

Open the Relink dialog and set it to Relink to selectrd master clips in open bins.

Ok…just tried to do this.
But when I went into the relink box, it wouldn’t let me click on the button: “Selected Itmes in ALL open bins.”

Do you know what I’m doing wrong?

I have a slate (not Smartslate) for each clip. I tried loading first the video into the source monitor, marking an IN at the clap, then loading it onto the timeline (v1, a1).

Then I loaded the external sound clip into the source monitor and did the same. Problem is I can’t see the wave form in the source monitor for the sound clip, so my IN is not so accurate. So then when I load the audio into A2, it’s slightly out of sync. What am I doing wrong?

I tried a lower resolution tiff and it works so far. Haven’t tried any effects yet, but at least the image shows up when I import it after the P&Z was applied.

The original was a 103mb jpg.
This is a tiff about 1/2 the size.

I guess I can experiment with different sizes and formats.
Seems AVID doesn’t like the large tiff?
