It didn’t for me. I didn’t choose “save frame as -> ps layers”
I chose “save frame as” and got straight to the save file dialog-box with the filetype preset to PSD.
No means of changing that there. I must confess that I havent investigated it futher or to the end. -
strange when I “save frame as…” it seems like I only get the option for PSD.

Save frame doesn’t give you the option to save as targa or tiff. Only as PSD. Which is good when wanting PSD file obiously. But when taking to print, maybe Targa or tiff is better.
But ofcourse you can save the frame as… And spare the fideling with the work area.

About the dpi – then you are right.
62″ x 38.5″ | 200 dpi –> 12400 x 7700

I would use tiff with no compresion. Or targa.
Set your workarea to 1 frame and “file -> export image sequence” Youl get 2 frames out of it. Just delete the last.

No but the codec will work anyway.

If you could investigate what kind of codec is used to export your media, maybe you could install it on you mac and get it working with QT that way.

I should think any video card with a breakout box should do it. For instance the PNY Quadro 540

If it’s a HDcodec I don’t think FCP4.0 can open it… I haven’t tried it. Can u open it with a quick-time player?
